2-year filing deadline
Most Florida injury cases now have to be filed within 2 years of the accident date. Florida cut that window from four years to two for accidents on or after March 24, 2023; an older accident may still get the four-year window. Miss it and the case is gone for good.
Time matters

Sovereign Immunity & Notice
If a Florida state or city agency is involved, you have to put them on written notice before you can sue, on a much shorter clock than an ordinary case, and what you can recover from a government body is capped.
