Child Victims Act — extended SOL for childhood abuse.
New York civil procedure rule 214-g (Child Victims Act, effective 2019) extended the civil SOL for childhood sexual abuse — survivors can now file civil claims until age 55. The CVA also opened a one-year lookback window for previously time-barred claims (extended to August 14, 2021; now closed). New CVA claims by survivors under 55 are still permitted.
